TEXSAR
Search & Rescue, Flood & Swiftwater Rescue, Disaster Response & Relief, and Wildland Fire
TEXSAR is an official, all volunteer, first responder organization based in Austin, Texas that services Austin, Travis County, Williamson County, Central Texas, and is able to deploy throughout the entire state. TEXSAR units are emergency response teams focusing on Search and Rescue (SAR), emergency relief, and disaster response under the Emergency Management System and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). All TEXSAR personnel are qualified and operate according to the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) standards. We also help educate the public on emergency preparedness and train Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), which respond to natural and other disasters.
