Director of Field Operations Job Description – Posting-6/7/24
TEXSAR, Inc., a Central Texas-based non-profit is hiring a Director of Field Operations. This is a remote position within the state of Texas with some in-person required.
Overview: Become a critical team member as the Director of Field Operations of TEXSAR (aka Texas Search and Rescue), a volunteer search-and-rescue/disaster response non-profit in Texas.

TEXSAR is seeking an experienced Director of Field Operations who excels in a fast-paced, quickly growing environment, and assists with high volume day-to-day activities. The applicant must embrace the TEXSAR Mission and Values of Texans Helping Texans and Service Above Self, display a positive attitude, and show concern for people and our community. The primary purpose of the position is to provide oversight and continuity to the organization’s operations and guidance to the divisions.

Responsibilities:
• Lead TEXSAR Division Leads.
• Provide support to field operations across Texas.
• Lead committees.
• Ensure operational readiness.
• Help with volunteer management.
• Present to and build relationships with agencies.
• Work on collaborative efforts in day-to-day operations as well as during deployments.
• Assist with the formulation of strategic direction that aids in TEXSAR’s growth and provide direction to the Division Leaders.
• Assist with the strategy to increase opportunities for TEXSAR to provide services to the state of Texas.
• Provide input on disciplinary functions of TEXSAR.
• Ensure the compliance of policies, guidelines, and procedures as they relate to the field operations.
• Work closely with the President/CEO, as well as division leaders to ensure Board directives are followed.
• Provide oversight and guidance to all leaders in the divisions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Leadership Experience: 5+ years.
• Must attend the required FEMA classes, WSAR training, and Lost Person Behavior.
• Reputation for high standards, ethical behavior, and integrity.
• Outgoing and personable while being professional.
• Passionate about helping people.
• Self-motivated and independent problem solver.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Teamwork-centered mindset.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions.

Preferred Qualification:
• Volunteer management.
• Non-profit experience.

Job Type: Full-time, Salary-Exempt position
Schedule:
This position is primarily remote with some travel. Must be able to work during our core hours of M-F, 8AM to 5PM with minimal weekend and evenings.
