TEXSAR Deploys to Hays County Flooding

Dripping Springs, Tx, May 3rd, 2019 – In response to the rising floodwaters in Hays County, Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) deployed a team at the request of the Hays County Office of Emergency Management on May 3rd, 2019. Hays County requested TEXSAR’s Flood and Swiftwater Team, Rescue Boat Operators, Rescue Boats, and High Water Clearance Vehicles.

TEXSAR worked alongside the first responders of Hays County throughout the evening and responded the following morning to a request for help in locating a missing person. TEXSAR K9’s were deployed at that point to assist in the recovery of said missing person.

TEXSAR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit first responder organization headquartered in Austin, Texas. TEXSAR serves all citizens of the State of Texas at critical times and deploys at the request of law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency management agencies. TEXSAR provides specialized services such as ground search and rescue; flood and swift water rescue; K9 search, rescue, and recovery; disaster relief services; wildland fire; aerial search; UAV support; and dive team operations.
