On Saturday October 20th Texsar delivered Search and Rescue training for the Austin/ Travis County Community Emergency Response Team Fall class. 60 students participated in the training that included search planning, hazard analysis, resource requirements and patient extraction. The students demonstrated skills in scene size up, cribbing, patient lift and carry techniques and other related exercises. Texsar continues to support the CERT program in Texas through training and exercise planning and delivery. Texsar Incident Management Team (IMT) members were in Bastrop this past weekend, October 13th and 14th to assist in the 15th annual Wildfire and Incident Management Team Academy. On Saturday, September 22, 2012, TEXSAR deployed two teams to support the Galveston County Office of Emergency Management (GCOEM). The teams worked with Harris County Hazmat, Galveston Fire Department (GFD), The HELP Foundation and the Galveston Port Authority Police Department (GPAPD).
