TEXSAR’s Response to Flooding in Southeast Texas

Winnie, Texas 9/19/2019 – In response to the devastation caused by Tropical Depression Imelda, in Southeast Texas. Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR) has deployed teams at the request of Chambers and Galveston counties on September 19, 2019 to deliver critical relief and rescue services, as well as conduct relevant assessments to offer additional resources. TEXSAR has deployed numerous TEXSAR assets including; two 5-ton trucks, one LMTV, six rescue boats, three humvees, one Dodge 3500 truck with reserve fuel cells, one ford F550 truck, and an equipment transport truck. These assets along with TEXSAR members will continue serving local authorities as long as necessary.

TEXSAR encourages those affected to follow community notices from local emergency officials regarding safety and evacuations. TEXSAR deploys solely at the request of local agencies and is actively serving Southeast Texas.

Chambers County and the Red Cross have opened the White’s Park Community Center as a Public shelter for people affected by the flooding in Chambers County.
